With so many on offer today, it is good to have a name you can believe. This is certainly that and will be a superb buy. The distributor have added some great touches and this results in great value for money. You can believe this review, i hope you can try to buy this product if you want know this product. I have had the case for 7 months. I like it very much but it is not perfect. The good things are;
1) The case seems very well made.
2) I like the textured feel of the case - less likely to drop it, and not prone to fingerprints and smudges. And it is slightly less likely to fall out of your shirt pocket when you bend over - although I have dropped it a couple of times.
3) It protects the phone from drops and most types of damage very well. The phone almost bounces - and I have never had any physical damage to my phone since I put it in this case. But it does not protect the phone from water damage if you drop it into water. Sigh. I know that for sure. But that is another story for another time.
4) The built-in case battery seems to double the life of the battery - more than enough for a day's usage 99% of the time for me. I never attempted even a quasi-scientific measurement, but from my usage pattern, that appears to be the case.
5) It has an on-off switch - not absolutely essential, but it is nice to have some control.
6) The LED indicator system displaying battery life works well.
7) The connector is a standard 5-pin mini USB connector.
8) You can sync the phone, charge the phone, and as far as I can tell do the same tasks you would do if the phone was not in the case.
9) If you want to take the case off, it is fairly easy to do, and yet the case stays securely attached to the phone unless you want to take it off.
10) The case covers the back of the phone from top to bottom and overlaps all four sides - unlike many cases that only cover the bottom half of the phone and overlap only three sides. That makes it a much better choice as a protective case, in my view.
11) It is slim - you can argue that there are slightly smaller and slightly slimmer cases out there, and there are, but this has a nice feel to it, and from a practical standpoint, is an excellent size.
The bad things are;
1) It is very difficult to flip the mute switch on the side of the phone. I have big fingers, and once in a while I can flip the switch to 'mute' with my fingers, but most of the time I have to use the tip of a pen or a key to reach through the narrow access slot on the side. I can never flip it to 'on' without a tool. I really find this annoying.
2) The case takes a very long time to recharge. I mean a VERY long time. I would guess about 5 - 7 hours if it is nearly completely run down. But I have developed the habit of recharging overnight (I use the phone alarm for wake-up, and plug the phone in on my nightstand), and that works fine, unless I forget to plug it in - then the next day I have to be careful not to exhaust the battery.
3) The battery life seems to be deteriorating - I have had the device 7 months, and it still works fine, but it seems to not be holding quite as much charge as it did when new.
4) The case is a sliding two piece case, and the upper piece appears pretty fragile when the case is taken off the phone. It is very sturdy when on the phone. So when I do not have a pen or a key to reach through the narrow slot to mute the phone, I have to slide the upper piece up and off the phone so that I can access the mute switch. I am always concerned that I will damage the upper piece - but so far I have not damaged it.
5) I am in an area with very poor AT&T reception (so what's new - hurry T-mobile and get the I-phone). But the case seems to have zero adverse affect. Reception quality appears equal with or without the case.
ADDENDUM - Yesterday I lost my phone - left it in a rental car at the Orlando airport, and when I went back 20 minutes later, the phone had gotten up off the seat and walked away, and of course, no one knew where it was hiding - probably it climbed into someone's pocket - so this morning I got a new I-phone - another 3G - and after researching the cases available for several hours, I came to the conclusion that this Trent case was still the best choice for my needs - so I bought another one for me new phone. I guess that is as good a testamonial as anyone could give.
