This is my second purchase of the Skinomi full body skin. My first experience was with the 2nd Gen iPod Touch and when I ordered my 4th Gen iPod Touch, I had to get another Skinomi for it. I would suggest buying the iPod and the Skinomi together. That way you can apply the skins immediately - before the iPod has a chance to get scratched or dirty. The cutouts match up perfectly with the device and add virtually no bulk unlike covers. For the really paranoid, since the Skinomi goes on so flush to the device, you could probably use a case for double protection. Note: I have not tried it but it crossed my mind when I was shopping around for cases for my iPod. I am glad I found this Skinomi product for the iPod over some of their competitors inferior products that lack quality and only cover the screen and not the back. I was worried for a second that they did not have the 4 Gen version out quite yet. I wish I would have come across the Skinomi DryShield version. I might have ordered that one instead of the original "wet" application. The "wet" application requires you to turn the device off when installing the shield and it is recommended that you don't turn the device back on for a few hours to let it dry. It is not easiest thing to do when you first get the iPod and just want to play with it. The install can be a bit tricky but the process is tried and true and the product is great after it is installed. Here is the link for the DryShield version:

UPDATE: I just received my new iPod in the mail today and applied the skin. Upon unpacking the new iPod from the plastic case it comes in, I peeled the plastic tabs away from the back of the iPod and immediately applied the back skin following the directions from Skinomi. Since the back of the iPod is curved around the edges, especially around the corners, the skin does not want to stick initially. Skinomi warns you about this in the directions. I had to keep pressing on the corner flaps for about ten minutes to get them to stay put. Once the back skin was secure, I took the plastic wrap completely off the iPod and installed the front skin. It was so easy compared to the back skin and within a few minutes it was on. I kept a close on on the water during the whole process and kept it away from any of the buttons/openings as much as possible - wiping away any excess with a lint free rag. Since I did not get any water in any of the orifices, I was able to use my iPod almost immediately after the installation. I am extremely happy with outcome. There are no bubbles. It does not even look like there is a skin on it and when using the iPod, it does not affect the touch screens functionality or appearance.
