Almost everything you need to replace your Ipod screen is in the box. Tools that you will also need are a thin 2 inch locking blade knife and a heat gun. You will also need some super glue (optional) if you want a superior fit. The Kit does come with an instruction sheet, but I didn't read it because their 50 minute instructional video at the Icracked web sight was so good that simply following along with it was all you need. I would recommend watching the video once all the way through before you start, though, to avoid any surprises and to know exactly what you are getting into.
From start to finish the entire repair job took me just under two hours, and half of that time was removing the old screen, glass shards and adhesive. Expect a lot of broken glass breaking off in very small pieces. The rest of the job was simple and straight forward. The end result is an Ipod touch that is almost as good as new.
Physically, it looks great, but the response of the new screen isn't quite the same as the old one, and there is a lcd swirl that shows up in the upper right hand corner when you put your finger on that spot behind the case. This is in the same location you had to cut some copper foil when making the repair. It doesn't seem that big of a deal to me. This is after all a repair and not a brand new Ipod. When I had heard that sickening crunch of my ipod hitting the side walk, I thought I had just watched 400 dollars evaporate into thin air. (I own a 64 gig) So shelling out $49.00 for a do it your self repair kit is a bargain. There may be cheaper solutions out there, but in my experience the cheap man almost always spends the most. I would recommend this complete kit to anyone who needs to replace the screen on their 4th gen ipod
